The deblog doesn't give much info on it, so there's plenty of room for speculation. And what is this equipment that starts with a W? Yeah, you can figure that out quite easily. But can enemies walk through it too? Can you shoot out of it or does it prevent all projectiles from getting through the field? Does it have an HP stat?
